Pay Rate: $19.50 Pay Rate & Attendance Bonus: $20.12 DEPARTMENT:         Finishing REPORTS TO:          Department Supervisor FLSA:                         Hourly - Non-Exempt Job Summary: Flex as needed between various Finish Material Handling and Final Inspection positions within the Finish & Final Inspection Departments. Must be fully trained with current certification in at least three of the following jobs: Finishing Expeditor Finish Prep Material Handler (Lapper) Final Inspect Material Handler  Tools and Equipment used: PIT equipment, Forklift, Cherry Picker, and Electric Pallet Jacks. General office supplies, SAP, LXE gun, and lapping machines.  Essential Functions: Perform the following duties according to ISO 9001 work instructions and standards:  Finishing Expeditor Track past due orders by using computerized information to determine current status. Record and follow problems involving special project requests and trials through the different areas of Design, Weaving, Finishing, and Quality Assurance to allow Customer Service to give accurate information to our customers. Track rush orders and projects through the manufacturing areas. Coordinate the flow of fabric with the order expediter to ensure the proper finishing and shipping instructions are followed. Notify Production Control Manager and Customer Service of problems noted. Pull pieces to ship to Outside finishers to meet Customer demands.  Post-Inspection Material Handler Move and store fabric as it goes through the Finishing and Post Inspection processes Maintain electronic records (LXE gun and computer) showing the location of fabric Prepare fabric for shipment and/or storage. Properly identify fabric with appropriate labels and tickets, being sure all data matches. Return the fabric to a proper storage location.  Finish Prep Material Handler Determine the cloth to be plated and pull the order according to the tickets. Arrange tickets to match the order in which fabric is sewn together Pull the cloth tightly between pins and sew together in straight seams, preventing bow and bias. Make sure the fabric goes through the frame and folds into the buggy or rolls onto the T frame without getting twisted. If fabric becomes twisted or something happens to the rollers at the top of the plater, use the ladder provided to reach and correct the problem. Move the fabric to the next process.  Keep the work area and equipment clean and free from safety hazards. Maintain proper housekeeping. Operate equipment properly.  Cut Yardage Material Handler Pull fabric for cut and import orders.  Load cut tables. Prepare fabric for shipments. Properly identify fabric with appropriate labels and tickets. Pull imports for finishing runs. Return fabric to the proper storage location. Unload Containers. Clean work area. Maintain good housekeeping.  Maintain and complete daily 5S assignments and responsibilities.  Other Requirements: Be willing and able to flex into either of these positions as requested by your supervisor, as business conditions dictate. Maintain 5 points or less within 6 months.  Safety: Safely perform all duties following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers. Report all job-related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately. Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards. Operate equipment properly and safely.  Follow all safety requirements and rules when using PIT. Safety belt/harness when using PIT. Maintain 5 S standards. QualificationsQualifications: Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others. Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Be able to follow special instructions and directions. A forklift license is required for moving buggies and lifting fabric to storage tubes. PIT license for Cherry Picker and Electronic Pallet Jack. SAP knowledge for Finishing Transactions Basic computer skills and use of the LXE gun. Keep the work area clean. Perform other duties as assigned.
