Job DetailsJob Location: Valdese, NC 28690 Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company and has been in business for over 100 years. As one of the largest woven textile mills in the world, Valdese Weavers designs and manufactures residential and contract-grade fabrics for furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers. 2nd and 3rd shift do receive a shift premium of $1.00. We offer a $50 attendance bonus for every two weeks in which you miss no time, not including our shutdown periods. This bonus would provide an extra $0.62 to your hourly rate.   Job Summary: To assist the Dye Machine Operator by staging yarn for dyeing and by moving it to the proper locations throughout the process.   Tools and Equipment used: Crimper, hand truck, tow motor, beam transport truck, scales, hoist.   Essential Functions: Perform the following duties according to ISO 9001 work instructions and standards: Crimp styles that require forming. Load yarn on spindles with spacers as needed. Place yarn in front of the appropriate dye machine. Load and unload dye machines Extract yarn.  After extracting, move to port dryers.  After drying, remove carriers from port dryers to the unloading area. Move the carriers of clipped yarn to the conditioning room. Work all scheduled overtime. Perform other duties as assigned. Move barrels of dye and chemicals to drug room area on each shift Maintain good housekeeping on the floor. Remove and properly dispose of trash on each shift.   Safety: Report all job related injuries to the supervisor immediately. Report any safety hazards to the supervisor immediately. Actively participate in safety programs, which identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards. Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by the Company. Maintain 5 S standards. Earplugs, safety belt, gloves, safety shoes, and any other PPE as required by MSDS. QualificationsQualifications: Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others. Reading, writing, and math skills. Good physical condition – heavy lifting required. Forklift/tow motor certification. Meet all pre-employment requirements
