As one of the largest woven textile mills in the world, Valdese Weavers designs and manufactures residential and contract-grade fabrics for furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers. The base pay for this position is $16.90. 2nd and 3rd shift do receive a shift premium of $1.00. We offer a $50 attendance bonus for every two weeks in which you miss no time, not including our shutdown periods. This bonus would provide an extra $0.62 to your hourly rate. Job Summary: Assist with upkeep of plant property and equipment. Ear protection in high noise areas, safety belt, gloves, goggles, and other equipment needed to perform the job safely.  Essential Functions: Perform the following duties according to ISO 9001 work instructions and standards: Install, repair, and wire a variety of electrical and electronic equipment and controls related to production and building equipment (including motors, relays, circuit breakers, machine/process controls/circuits, and alarm/communication systems. Diagnose problems and replace/repair defective parts. Maintain/replace/repair HVAC controls. Install wiring, conduit, and switches during remodeling and construction. Maintain personal work habits, which meet the demands and stresses of the job. Meet deadlines and production quotas. Get along with co-workers. Follow instructions. Work scheduled overtime. Maintain personal attendance practices to meet established company goals. Perform other duties as needed to complete the job or as assigned by the supervisor. Clean up after each maintenance activity using good housekeeping standards. Perform other duties as assigned.  Safety: Must be trained in Arc Flash Standard. Must be Trained in Lock Out Tag Out. Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers. Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately. Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards. QualificationsQualifications: Associates degree or journeyman's in the electrical field. Three to five years of experience in Industrial and control wiring. Proficient in reading, writing, and performing basic math skills in the English language. Knowledge of blueprint reading, national Electrical Code, instrument measuring, labor/material planning, theory of electronics, and AC/DC and three phase AC power distribution. Good physical condition – heavy lifting required. Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others.
