Pay Rate: $16.75 Shift Premium & Attendance Bonus: $17.37 DEPARTMENT: Finishing REPORTS TO: Finishing Plant Supervisor SCOPE: Operate needlepunch machine PPE: Earplugs, safety shoes, and other as required by MSDS TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED: Needlepunch machine, buggies, sewing machine, accessories, and general office supplies REQUIRED PRODUCTION OUTPUT PER SHIFT: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Safety: Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers. Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately. Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards. 2. Attendance: Maintain personal attendance practices to meet established company goals. 3. Work Ethics: Maintain personal work habits, which meet the demands and stresses of the job. Meet deadlines and production quotas. Get along with co-workers. Follow instructions. Work scheduled overtime. Duties: Perform the following duties according to ISO 9001 work instructions and standards: a. Sew cloth requiring needlepunch finish together. Be sure all identifying information matches. b. Set up and operate needlepunch machine following approved work instructions. c. Maintain assigned equipment. Clean according to schedule. d. Monitor fabric and equipment to ensure quality at every step of the needlepunch process. e. Keep appropriate records. OTHER JOB ELEMENTS: Report problems and quality concerns to the Finishing Manager or Finishing Plant Supervisor. Practice good housekeeping and keep work area neatly organized. Perform other duties as needed to complete the job or as directed by department manager or supervisor. Work overtime (including weekends) as required to meet business conditions. QualificationsEDUCATION, TRAINING, AND SKILLS NEEDED TO PERFORM JOB: Must be able to read, write, and do basic math. Basic computer skills. Good physical condition for pushing and doffing buggies of cloth. Good hand/eye coordination for changing needles.
