Job DetailsJob Location: Valdese, NC 28690Travel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: 1st DEPARTMENT: Shop REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor and Plant Engineer SCOPE: General upkeep of all plant property and equipment PPE: Ear protection in high noise areas, safety belt, gloves, and other specialized equipment required to perform job safely TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED: Hand tools such as wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, hammers, hacksaws, micrometers, calipers, etc. and power tools such as drills, portable band saws, etc REQUIRED PRODUCTION OUTPUT PER SHIFT: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Safety: Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers. Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately. Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards. 2. Attendance: Maintain personal attendance practices to meet established company goals. 3. Work Ethics: Maintain personal work habits, which meet the demands and stresses of the job. Meet deadlines and production quotas. Get along with co-workers. Follow instructions. Work scheduled overtime. Duties: Perform the following duties according to ISO 9001 work instructions and standards: Install and repair production and building equipment; special purpose machines; high-pressure steam, water, air, and gas lines/systems; electrical and electronic controls; piping; and tubing. Repair plant facilities including flooring and tile. Perform general carpentry work. Inspect equipment for proper lubrication and perform preventive maintenance. Check problem areas, make repairs/adjustments, and refer complex situations to higher classified mechanics or supervisor. Operate machine tools. Weld and work with sheet metal as required. OTHER JOB ELEMENTS: Perform other duties as needed to complete job or as assigned by the supervisor. Clean up after each maintenance activity using good housekeeping standards. QualificationsEDUCATION, TRAINING, AND SKILLS NEEDED TO PERFORM JOB: Proficient in reading, writing, and performing basic math skills in the English language. Experience in welding, pipefitting, and air compressors. Must possess good mechanical ability Good physical condition – heavy lifting required
