SUMMARY/GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB:Ā
Under the direct supervision of the Cultural Program Manager, the Program Coordinating Team (PCT) is responsible for planning and implementing camp activities. PCT Coordinates Traditional Counselors, Elders, and youth to ensure
scheduled events and activities run smoothly. The Program Coordinating Team schedules camp classes and activities for all camp participants. The Program Coordinating Team makes sure Traditional Counselors have the support needed to pass on traditional knowledge and that Youth Coordinators get their assigned participants to and from class in a timely manner.Ā Ā

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & JOB FUNCTIONS, including but not limited to:Ā
- Provides supervision and assistance to camp participants as assigned during camp sessions.Ā
- Implements daily schedule of camp activities.Ā
- Supports class sign up for participants.
- Communicates camperāsĀ housing assignments for each session.Ā
- Provides support to the scheduled activities, as needed.Ā
- Serves as liaison between camp staff and the camp attendees.Ā
- Conducts
weekly orientation which includes an overview of Nuuciq Spirit Camp Program policies, procedures and expectations.Ā
- Provides regular reports to the Cultural Program Manager to include a āfinalā or close-out report with suggestions andĀ recommendations.Ā Ā
- Assists with the supervision of class projects.
- Provides guidance and motivation to Nuuciq Spirit Camp Program staff and participants regarding behavior, training, personal and/or work habits, and problems. Coordinates with staff and participants as necessary.Ā
- Communicates information regarding
scheduled activities, weekly calendar, and meal announcements.Ā
- Provides performance feedback for the Youth Coordinators and Traditional Counselors throughout
each session.Ā Ā
- Reports all safety concerns to Cultural Program Manager.Ā
- Provides requests for supplies as needed for the Nuuciq Spirit Camp Programs with the final approval of Chugach Heritage Foundation Management.Ā
- Understands and follows Nuuciq Spirit Camp Policies and Chugach Heritage Foundation Policies and Procedures, and
assists in the development and implementation of any new or revised policies that affect Nuuciq Spirit Camp.Ā
- Performs other duties as assigned.Ā
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Professional Associations):Ā
Mandatory:Ā
- At least eighteen (18) years of age.Ā
- Previous experience working with youth of varying ages and backgrounds.Ā
- Self-motivated to do the job and be able to work with minimum supervision.
Ā - Perform under pressure and effectively handle numerous priority events simultaneously.Ā
