Legacy Behavioral Health Services is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to join our team in Lowndes County. In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting individuals and families throughout South Georgia with compassionate, high-quality behavioral health services. The Maintenance Techwill be responsible for duties including helping consumers to move into shelter and care apartments, and office maintenance for the various Legacy Behavioral Health business offices. The position requires independent and partnered work, problem-solving, and proactive recommendations to ensure optimal maintenance

The programmer will be supervised by the Facility Services Manager.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in facility maintenance, general repairs, or construction
  • Valid driver’s license with less than 5 points
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions
  • Capable of maintaining accurate maintenance logs and documentation
  • Ability to read blueprints or floorplans and use a tape measure accurately

 

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Experience working in healthcare, housing, or multi-site facility settings
  • Demonstrated skill in drywall repair, basic framing, finish carpentry, and flooring installation
  • Strong communication and time management skills .

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and assist with physical tasks for up to 90% of the shift, including indoor and outdoor facility maintenance activities
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling of items up to 50 pounds, including tools, equipment, furniture, and materials used in construction or repair work
  • Regular hands-on maintenance requiring manual dexterity, physical stamina, and the ability to operate power tools and hand tools safely
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required to interact with staff, vendors, and supervisors in person, by phone, or via work order systems
  • Visual acuity needed to perform inspections, complete detailed repairs, and ensure work meets safety, code, and quality standards
  •  Routine travel between agency facilities using company vehicles; must be able to navigate job sites, including confined spaces, attics, and crawlspaces
  • Exposure to a variety of facility environments that may vary in temperature, cleanliness, or accessibility, including residential, clinical, and outdoor settings
  • Occasional exposure to dust, fumes, pests, mold, cleaning chemicals, and noise; adherence to all safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
  • Work is primarily conducted on-site at multiple LBH locations; remote work is not applicable to this position
