Job Description
The Director of Crisis Center (BHCC) will oversee 24 bed Crisis Service Unit (CSU), 6 bed Temporary Observation (TO) Unit, and Crisis Service Center (CSC). This position will implement program development, facilitate community outreach, develop/build relationships with identified stakeholders, and provide clinical and logistical oversight to staff at the BHCC, as well as ensure quality of services are being delivered. Works closely with Medical Director, Nurse Manager and Safety Manager. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
- State of GA License Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), Registered Nurse License (RN) with bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN), or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Four (4) years’ experience in behavioral health or nursing field.
- Three (3) years’ experience in management.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Valid Drivers’ License

- Master’s in health care administration (MHA) or business management (MBA).
- Prior experience in quality and performance improvement.
- Experience in project management

 This position requires:
- RN/BSN or LCSW, LMFT, LPC.
- 2-4 years of experience in the management of a health care service organization; psychiatric/behavioral health experience preferred.
- Knowledge of, or the ability to research, regulatory standards for behavioral health, including CARF, OSHA, Medicare, and DBHDD.
- Thorough understanding of service line management, payor sources, and public relations skills required.
- Planning, communicating, teambuilding, networking, writing, listening, leading, motivating, and critical thinking skills are necessary for success.
- Requires basic computer skills. Thorough understanding and working knowledge of all aspects of EMR.
- Ability to analyze data for improvement opportunities.
- Utilizes discretion in handling the organization's confidential information and consumer-protected information.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development of BHCC clinical care, scope of practice and practice standards for all functions of BHCC consistent with the organization’s mission, vision, values.
- Direct the delivery of clinical and community-oriented services.
- Identify opportunities for improving outcomes in clinical effectiveness, clinical practice, and standards, and enhancing quality and safety outcomes.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes. This includes developing policies and procedures and ensuring they are effectively implemented.Â
- Provide individual and group supervision of clinical staff as needed.Â
- Develop a talented and motivated workforce by ensuring engagement and satisfaction, while ensuring optimal efficiency and accountability.
- Supervise, coach, mentor and lead a high performing workforce that fosters partnerships, teamwork, innovation, and engagement.
- Advocate for patients’ needs ensuring their access to appropriate and timely services.
Administrative Leadership (34%)
- In collaboration with the executive team, position plays a key role in the overall development, strategic planning, service delivery, and management of the BHCC.Â
- Provide administrative and clinical leadership to BHCC managers to support and develop the provision of services, including the Trauma-Informed Model to deliver high-quality care that is financially feasible and sustainable.Â
- Oversee budgeting and financial management, this includes preparing and monitoring budgets, analyzing financial data, and identifying cost-saving measures.Â
- Evaluate the needs for the delivery of services, recruitment, interviewing and hiring to fulfill clinical needs; staff assignments; completion of performance appraisals and managing employee relations.Â
- Collaborate with and support the training coordinator to develop and implement a comprehensive clinical training plan.
- Coordinate with other healthcare providers and departments for integrated care, and develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, such as local hospitals, emergency departments, law enforcement agencies and jail.
- Create a work climate that emphasizes collective team performance and quality clinical outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with organizations staff and supervisors, as well as external contacts, such as DBHDD etc.Â
Quality Assurance and Compliance (33%)
- Ensure compliance with federal, state regulations, including accreditation standards and licensing requirements.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to manage the risks associated with care provided at the BHCC and identify opportunities to reduce risk and improve the quality of care.
- In collaboration with the Compliance Officer, review and respond to legal concerns or requests.
- Protect individually identifiable health information per HIPAA, HITECH, 42 CFR regulations.
- Actively participate in safety programs by identifying potential risks and promoting patient safety as well as environmental safety.Â
- Perform safe work practices to protect the health and safety of employees and patients per applicable regulations.
- Oversee BHCC clinical quality monitoring efforts and assure that clinical practices align with ethical and professional standards.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness by implementing quality improvement initiatives and ensuring high-quality patient care.Â
- Analyze data to inform decision-making and policy development and prepare regular reports on program performance.

Requires varying hours of duty to provide monitoring, educational, and/or crisis handling, as well as travel to off-campus locations throughout BHSGA or use of a personal vehicle.
May be requested on occasion to travel to conferences and meetings as an organization representative. Must be able to make arrangements to attend these as required.
