General Description

 

Located at the site, is responsible for implementing all activities associated with Operations/Production support that typically employs up to 25 employees in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements of the company. Possesses a working knowledge of a general manufacturing/production environment to include associated equipment. Has working knowledge of general shipping/receiving functions. Directly supervises employees. Typically requires 7-10 years of related experience.

 

 

Skills and Qualifications 

 

·            High School Diploma/GED

 

·            Possesses 7-10 years of direct related job experience with certifications/qualifications achieved through educational institutions, technical programs, NCCER etc.

 

·            Possesses 3-5 years of experience with direct supervision of employees within the related job disciplines working in a fast-paced environment.

 

·            Possesses general computer skills (i.e., email, WORD, Excel programs), good verbal communications skills, including phone, radio, and plant intercom systems.

 

·            Capable of Planning & Scheduling related work activities.

Specific Description   

 

The purpose of the Site Supervisor assignment is to ensure all employees follow health, safety, environmental, and operational procedures of their assigned tasks including but are not limited to:

 

•      Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

 

•      Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities.

 

•      Greets employees daily at the beginning and/or end of shift.

 

•      Reviews all B&R daily time sheets, and gate log sign-in/out sheets for completeness/accuracy. Communicate with B&R A/F for any discrepancies.

 

•      Establishes daily/morning employee safety huddles (takes place directly after the 7:00am Daily Production Meeting at a designated location).

 

•      Plans/Schedules for the B&R Monthly Mass Safety Meeting.

 

•      Participates in B&R Monthly RSLT Meeting (Conference call), and the B&R Monthly Focus Meeting (Conference call).

 

•      Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

 

•      Conducts B&R Daily/Weekly safety audits observing work activity to ensure Operational Discipline is being upheld, any work permits are in place to include Confined Space Entry permits, LTO, and that supporting TSTI/JSA is in place, and being followed.

 

•      When asked, participates in client Daily/Weekly Safety audits.

 

•      Attends/Participates in Daily client Production Meetings.

 

·            Works closely with the site Production Department to support scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.

 

•     Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.

 

•     Engages with Production personnel to ensure operation of equipment is performing to required standards.

 

•     Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing    production performance records and data, answering questions, and responding to requests.

 

•      Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements, implementing change.

 

·            Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

 

•      Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.

 

•      Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

 

•      Takes oversight direction from the Corporate Operations Manager.

 

•      Create and Sustain a Safe Work Environment, Supervision, Coaching, Managing Processes, Process Improvement, Tracking Budget Expenses, Production Planning, Strategic Planning, Dealing with complexity, Financial Planning and Strategy

 

 

Physical Requirements 

 

·         Capable of being exposed to dusty, hot/cold/wet conditions (snow-rain)

 

·         General - Must be able to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, elevated walkways, and walk, stand, stoop, work in awkward positions underneath equipment, for extended periods of time, enter tight congested areas to include awkward position, and be able to lift 50 lbs. single person – 80 lbs. w/two persons.

 

Work Schedule

 

The work schedule is 5/8-hour days.

 

Work Schedule Note: Area Superintendent will be expected to support project schedules that require; weekday after normal hours, weekend hours, or any special defined work schedule that is needed to support maintenance/capital project work activity.
