Summary:
The neurology technologist is responsible for providing various adult electroencephalogram studies (routine, sleep deprived, LTM,) as ordered by a physician.
This individual (if registered) will provide clinical oversight for non-registered technicians performing EEG procedures.
In addition, this individual will act as a super-user/system administrator for the NATUS digital EEG system and long-term EEG monitoring systems.
Position Responsibilities:
• Performs various types of electroencephalogram studies.
• Obtains patient history from medical record, documents information in digital EEG system. Ensures patient orders and charges are correct and appropriate.
• Maintains the digital EEG and long-term monitoring systems. Clips long-term monitoring studies to reduce required server space.
Position Qualifications Required / Experience Requirement
Clinical Routine-LTM EEG experience preferred.
Knowledge of NATUS EEG systems preferred.
Knowledge of EPIC Preferred
Required Education:
High school education.
College education preferred.
R.EEG.TÂ Registry exam eligibility via ABRET Pathway required.Â
EEG registry required within one year of employment.
Training/Certifications/Licensure:
BLS.
EEG registry required within one year of hire.
