About the Audiologist Position:  The Speech & Hearing Center in Valhalla, NY is searching for a dedicated and compassionate full time Audiologist to join our team of healthcare professionals. As an Audiologist, you will be responsible for evaluating and diagnosing auditory disorders, recommending and providing appropriate treatments, and offering rehabilitative services to patients experiencing hearing loss or other hearing-related issues.

About the WIHD's Speech & Hearing Center:

The Speech and Hearing Center works in collaboration with Westchester Medical Center, the CI Balancing Center and APS, and is a major resource for audiology in Westchester and the Lower Hudson Valley. We provide the range of diagnostic and rehabilitative services including, diagnostic audiology, electrophysiologic measures (ABR & OAE), auditory processing testing, hearing aids and bone conduction devices. Services are provided to infants, children, and adults, some of whom have neurodevelopmental disabilities.

The ideal candidate will possess experience providing the audiology services across the age range. Preference will be given to individuals who have a desire to work with children and/or those with neurodevelopmental disabilities. Some supervision of graduate students may be necessary.

Audiologist Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Audiology from an accredited institution.
  • NY State licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure as an Audiologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or equivalent certification.
  • Strong knowledge of audiological diagnostic procedures, assessment techniques, and treatment options.
  • Proficient in using sophisticated audiological equipment and specialized software for testing and analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex audiological concepts to patients of all ages.
  • Empathetic and patient-focused approach to address the emotional and psychological aspects of hearing loss.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
