Overview

Under the direction of the nursing leader, the Registered Nurse diagnoses and treats human responses to actual or potential health problems. The RN provides health teaching, counseling, and support to our patients and their families. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for a group of patients.

Responsibilities

  • Make a meaningful impact by providing direct patient care, including administering medications and treatments.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and health conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Drive professional growth by actively participating in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Weekend & Holiday commitment required.

Qualifications

  • Preference for candidates with prior experience in a pediatric setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Education, Licensure, and Certification

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure by the New York State Department of Education as a registered professional nurse.
  • BLS certification required.
  • PALS certification encouraged.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for the majority of the workday.
  • Must be able to move/lift heavy equipment and patients weighing a minimum of 34-40lbs.
  • Fine motor coordination required for manipulating biomedical equipment (e.g., suction catheters, electric-monitoring devices).
