Overview

The primary purpose of the Chemical Blender position is to blend chemicals (mostly IPA/DI blends) for the plant. Other functions include chemical changeovers and materials movements (Material Controller functions) to all production areas as needed.  

 


Responsibilities

  • Obtaining raw materials from the warehouse and staging them for production as necessary. 
  • Removing completed finished product from the manufacturing cells. 
  • Documenting and/or performing all necessary inventory transactions for the movement of materials. 
  • Performing receiving function for chemical deliveries (generally 1st shift only). 
  • Performance of chemical changeover in the saturation and laundry areas. 
  • Removal and change filters in pump room. 
  • Performs chemical blending per work orders. 
  • Collection of liquid hazardous material. 
  • Maintaining housekeeping in both chemical rooms. 
  • Understand Inventory movements and issuing materials in IFS. 
  • Perform General Material Controller duties as needed to assist production. 
  • Collects samples for each new blend or changeover and delivers to QC. 
  • Others may be assigned. 

Qualifications/Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus 3 months or more related experience or training. 

     

      LANGUAGE SKILLS  

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and, when necessary, make proper corrections meeting proper protocols for traceability.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS  

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 

 

REASONING ABILITY  

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
