Histology Technician

Performs all routine cutting and staining of surgical specimens, including frozen sections and special stains.

Job Responsibility

1.Performs all routine cutting and staining of surgical specimens.

3.Performs special stains.
4.Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification

1.Associate’s degree in a program qualified for Certified Histological Technician Licensure or Medical Lab Technology.
OR
Meets education/experience requirements under New York State Education Department grandparenting clause for Certified Histological Technician Licensure or Clinical Laboratory Technician.
2.Licensed by New York State Education Department as a Certified Histological Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technician, required.
                                          OR
Must have a valid permit and become licensed to practice as a Certified Histological Technician within one (1) year of employment.
3.Strong oral and written communication skills, required.
