Role Overview: 

A Treehouse Prep Cook plays an essential role in the kitchen, preparing high-quality ingredients and supporting the culinary team with foundational tasks. In this position, you’ll focus on ingredient preparation, basic cooking techniques, and maintaining an organized and efficient kitchen environment. Whether it’s chopping vegetables, making stocks, or roasting, your work will help set the stage for the exceptional dishes Treehouse Hotel is known for. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare ingredients such as vegetables, proteins, and sauces according to recipe standards. 

  • Execute foundational cooking tasks, including roasting, blanching, and making stocks or doughs. 

  • Assist with mise en place preparation to ensure readiness for service. 

  • Organize and store food items properly, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards. 

  • Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, tools, and workspaces to ensure a safe and efficient kitchen environment. 

  • Support the line team by preparing and replenishing mise en place during busy periods. 

  • Receive and check deliveries, properly labeling and storing inventory. 

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Basic knife skills and a strong understanding of fundamental food preparation techniques. 

  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately. 

  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and food processors. 

  • Organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining a clean and orderly workspace. 

  • A willingness to learn and a positive, team-oriented attitude. 

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Flexibility to assist with a variety of tasks across the kitchen. 

  • Previous kitchen experience is a plus, training is available for motivated candidates.
