Job DetailsJob Location: Dynatect Valparaiso - Valparaiso, IN 46383Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High SchoolJob Category: General LaborDESCRIPTION: The custodian is responsible for upholding the health and safety of a building’s occupants by ensuring proper sanitation and completing chores. To accomplish this, it will require them to:  Clean up spills caused by food or beverages, wash windows, mop, and vacuum floors, sanitize restroom facilities, wipe tables, dusting, and maintain trash and recycling removal to ensure the building’s occupants have a clean space. PRIMARY ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Custodian primary responsibilities are: Ensuring Safety is always the #1 priority. General cleaning of the building and keeping it maintained and in good condition. Disinfect commonly used items, touch point areas like door handles, office tools and phones. Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors, clean windows, dusting Cleaning and stock restrooms, breakrooms, and common office areas. Clean up spills with appropriate equipment. Notify supervisors or managers of major repairs. Collect and dispose of trash and recycling bins. Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision. Keep cleaning supplies in stock. Other duties, special projects as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities currently.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to lift and move at least 50 pounds.  Must be able to bend, twist, squat, kneel, stand and walk throughout shift. QualificationsKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies and basic equipment. Excellent time-management and organizational skills. Basic math skills required. High School diploma or GED.
