Summary
Installs, modifies, and makes repairs to computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical assistance and training to system users by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
- Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on user's premises.
- Loads specified software packages such as operating systems, word processing, or spreadsheet programs into computer.
- Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation.
- Responds to co-worker inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems.
- Instructs users in use of equipment, software, and manuals.
- Recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems.
- Coordinates activities with help desk, network services, or other information systems groups.
- Provides updates, status, and completion information to manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication.
- Replaces defective or inadequate software packages.
- Refers major hardware problems to service personnel for correction.
- Troubleshoot issues that arise with current systems and perform needed adjustments.
- Document new tasks needed to perform job duties and improve current documentation.
- Perform network maintenance with wiring and connections for network and attached equipment.
Requirements
- Vocational degree in Information Technology, certification such as CompTIA A+ or Net+, or 2 years' IT experience.
- Self-starter with strong work ethic and the ability to manage projects independently.
- Ability to multitask all levels of operations and daily tasks.
- Strong communication and prioritization / time management skills with the ability to support the IT needs of office personnel and production facility (computer / tablet / phone / networking equipment setup and maintenance).
- IP Camera and VOIP experience preferred.
