Job Summary:
The QC (CWI or VT II) is responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of welded components and assemblies. They inspect welds to verify compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform visual inspections of welds to identify defects and non-conformities.
- Schedule third party non-destructive testing (NDT) of welds, including radiographic testing (RT), ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), and liquid penetrant testing (PT) as needed.
- Perform dimensional inspections of incoming, in-process, and finished parts.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, tolerances, and specifications.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports and documentation.
- Coordinate with production and quality control teams to address welding-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with welding codes and standards.
- Provide training and guidance to welding personnel.
- Maintain certification as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or VT II.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Strong knowledge of welding codes and standards, such as AWS, ASME, and ASTM.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety procedures.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification or VT II.
Experience:
- Must hold a current CWI or VT II

- May require occasional travel to other manufacturing facilities or job sites.

Work Environment:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary (Monday to Sunday with some overnight work) and overtime is frequently required.

Physical Requirements:
Talk/Hear: Frequently communicate with project personnel, customers, Authorized Inspectors, and contractors and understand verbal instructions in active industrial environments.
Stand/Sit: Frequently stand or sit for extended periods while conducting inspections, reviewing documentation, attending meetings, or traveling between project locations.
Walk: Frequently walk through active industrial sites, including uneven surfaces, stairs, platforms, and areas around operating or construction equipment.
Use hands/fingers to handle or feel: Frequently use hands and fingers to operate inspection equipment, handle gauges and tools, document findings, and access inspection points.
Stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, or crawl: Frequently bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs or ladders, and position the body to access and inspect welds, piping, structural components, and equipment.
See: Maintain the visual acuity necessary to examine welds and materials; distinguish relevant indications and conditions; and read drawings, procedures, specifications, and inspection records.
Carry, weight, Lift:Â Frequently lift, push, pull, or carry inspection equipment and materials weighing up to 25 pounds and, as required, up to 50 pounds.
