We are seeking a LabelingĀ Mechanic to be responsible for installing, setting up, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining labeling-line machinery and related productions equipment within a cannery and food processing facility. Equipment may include can labelers, coding and date-marking equipment, conveyors, case packers, palletizers, motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical or electrical components.

Key Responsibilities:Ā 

  • Inspects, installs, sets up, adjusts, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains can-labeling machinery and related production equipment, may assist with Peeler Mechanic as needed.
  • Observes machinery while in operation and listens for unusual sounds to identify equipment malfunctions or potential mechanical failures.
  • Responds promptly to labeling-line breakdowns and performs repairs to minimize production downtime.
  • Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control-related problems.
  • Dismantles machinery and equipment to gain access to and remove defective or worn components.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree, apprenticeship, technical-school certification, or equivalent training in industrial maintenance, mechanical technology, electrical technology, welding, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of related industrial-maintenance or mechanical experience is preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial facility is required or strongly preferred.
  • Experience in food processing, canning, packaging, or labeling operations is highly preferred.
  • Experience with can labelers, conveyors, case packers, palletizers, coding equipment, and related packaging-line equipment is preferred.
