What You'll Do
As a Product Development Specialist you'll  generates product quotes and electronic formulations and ensures established products meet all customer requirements, manufacturing process capabilities, and relevant regulations.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Provide service and support to sales staff by generating product quotes (formulations and packaging components)
- Partner with Purchasing Department to provide necessary technical information relevant to ingredient and packaging component requirements per customer specifications
- Ensure all customer requirements are met with respect to ingredients, packaging components, label claims, and dosage form
- Provide accurate customer quotes for external review
- Input, maintain, and manage formulations and packaging in electronic system (BatchMaster)
- Initiate deviations and change controls as necessary to update specifications and ensure conformance of ERP formulations to established specifications and customer requirements
- Evaluate material and packaging substitutions
- Assist in label reviews to maintain compliance with label claims and FDA requirements; notify Quality and/or relevant stakeholders of label conformance concerns prior to production
- Interact with customers in person and in writing as needed
- Support the organization with raw material, component, and finished product investigations as needed
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and customer service
- Cross-train in related functions and support other departments as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Math, Business, Business Management, Computer Science, or work-related equivalent experience required
- Minimum 3 years' experience working in dietary supplement, food, cosmetics, or pharmaceutical industry
- Experience with FDA/cGMP compliance and OSHA strongly recommended
- Knowledge of dietary supplement formulations and/or packaging preferred
- Background in science or biology preferred for terminology
- Ability to understand, speak, read, and write in English to perform essential job functions related to comprehension of laws, regulations, standards, documents, and other internal and external communications
- Knowledge and capability to convert nutrient unit claims to milligrams
- Ability to complete accurate and precise work in a timely manner while responding to tight schedules
- Ability to work independently in Office programs including document creation, spreadsheets, and email
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to apply math skills including algebra
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This is a fast-paced production environment involving light to moderate physical activity, including lifting up to 50 lbs. There may be exposure to dust, powders, and food allergens, and PPE (masks, gloves, hearing protection) is required.
- Normal office or laboratory environment
- Occasionally subject to normal warehouse and production environment
- Occasionally subject to high noise levels where hearing protection is required
- Occasionally subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, powders, dust, and other particles
- May be required to wear personal protective equipment and GMP attire
- Must be able to work around ingredients and/or finished products known to contain food allergens
