Job DetailsJob Location: 107 GRAND BOULEVARD - VANCOUVER, WA 98661Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $85,442.00 - $121,191.00 SalaryJob Shift: DayJob Category: AccountingSummary: The Senior Cost Accountant will report to the Inventory & Cost Accounting Manager and be responsible for cost accounting operations ranging from reconciling account balances, analyzing and reporting costs and inventory balances, and performing month-end and year-end closings.  This position will perform a variety of accounting tasks, including posting journal entries, account reconciliations, account and inventory analysis, maintaining standard costs and special projects. This position will also interact with other departments to gather and disseminate information to improve and maintain good communication between departments. This Senior Cost Accountant should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of cost accounting, accounting principles and regulations.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain cost accounting system, cost ledgers, and related general ledgers Perform month-end accounting close activities related to inventory, manufacturing costs, and variances, including account reconciliations and follow-up Assist with year-end physical inventory counts Generate accounting reports and distribute to internal customers Ensure inventory accuracy by working with Operations on inventory transactions and adjustments Responsible for the integrity of detailed standard costs Manages, corrects, analyzes and reports on material variances Manages errors, including zero cost of sales and various other errors Analyze production costs and margins, work with Sales to ensure we are achieving adequate margins Perform standard cost development for new parts and work closely with Sales Responsible for quarterly and year-end physical counts of steel Responsible for monitoring and reporting of cycle counting activities Responsible for reconciling Inventory, Work-in-Process and other accounts Liaison to manufacturing for questions and assistance in a variety of areas Prepare weekly Labor Flash reports Prepares several statistical monthly reports Responsible for year-end standard cost updates Documents processes and procedures; eliminates non-value-added activities Works closely with Operations to document and improve inventory reporting functions Participates in cross functional teams Contributes to team effort - willing take on new assignments, fill in for others as needed; accomplishes other duties as assigned Establishes personal networks, participates in professional societies, attends professional workshops and reviews publications Occasional travel to subsidiary locations to help standardize costing, inventory counts and other procedures   Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
