Under general supervision, this position will be responsible for leading manufacturing and production activities; assisting Operations Supervisor with the coordination of materials and/or products processing in the manufacturing facility; leading manufacturing employees and monitors output and quality of products; and assures products meet quality and delivery requirements. The Manufacturing Lead is referred to as the Manufacturing Resource Operator because they serve as a resource for the team.

 

Essential Functions

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), company policies, safety policies and practices, quality standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Responsible at all times for ensuring that tasks are performed according to food safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assists the Shift Supervisor by providing technical directions to the line leads and other personnel as directed by Shift Supervisor.
  • Provides adequate training for personnel as necessary.
  • Follows and enforces all safety, quality, GMP, and regulatory policies and guidelines.
  • Reviews production schedules and priorities with the appropriate support personnel to ensure workflow is maintained.
  • Reviews all in-process monitoring documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensures that all materials are properly identified with lot, date, and status.
  • Responsible for tracking downtime using the downtime tracking system.
  • Provides support for kitchen and mogul operations and packout activities as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with finished goods processing when as needed.
  • Assists in maintaining proper housekeeping of all production areas.
  • Provides input regarding employee performance reviews.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

 

 Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of technical production line operation experience in a fast-paced, lean manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Prior manufacturing experience in a GMP environment (e.g., food or pharmaceutical manufacturing) required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills required.

  • Ability to obtain PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) certification and safely operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, scissor lifts).
  • Ability to maintain punctuality and reliable attendance.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment and clean room attire.
  • Moderate physical activity, requires standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day and up to twelve (12) hours per shift.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform work onsite and be comfortable in a light industrial environment, including some exposure to non-toxic dust.
