Understanding that first impressions matter, the Sales Associate will take pride in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation of Joie's retail store. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Customer Experience Represent the brand with professionalism, positivity, and enthusiasm. Deliver a premium, personalized customer experience aligned with core values. Warmly greet customers, build rapport by understanding their design style, lifestyle, and story, and ask thoughtful questions to determine needs. Provide confident product recommendations that foster loyalty and repeat business. Actively listen to customer concerns, address issues professionally, and escalate when appropriate. Identify and act on cross-selling and up-selling opportunities when they offer genuine value. Operate the point-of-sale system accurately, process payments, and ensure a smooth, efficient checkout experience. Operations Perform daily cleaning tasks, including bathrooms, kitchen areas, and high-touch surfaces, to maintain a clean, welcoming environment. Adhere to all people safety standards and policies to ensure a safe workplace. Execute daily store readiness procedures to support operational excellence. Maintain floor presentation standards and leverage store technology to enhance customer interactions. Product Manage stockroom inventory in accordance with safety requirements. Support company-led product initiatives and campaigns. Maintain up-to-date product knowledge, including features, benefits, pricing, promotions, and changes to assortment. Provide expert product guidance to help customers make confident purchasing decisions. Demonstrate ongoing curiosity and willingness to learn. Assist in maintaining clear, organized, and visually compelling product displays that align with brand standards and elevate the customer's experience. Requirements & Qualifications Experience and Education One (1) year of experience in retail, customer service, or sales. High school diploma or GED required. Skills and Competencies Thrives to learn with the ability to acquire proficiency with products and their features and benefits. Dependable and reliable in adhering to the work schedule based on business needs. Excellent verbal, active listening, and interpersonal skills to understand and connect with customers. Proficient with basic calculations and comfortable using point-of-sale and computer systems. The ability to safely lift and carry items weighing up to thirty (30) pounds is required. Technology Experience with POS systems. Strong MS Office and Internet skills. Working knowledge of: Payroll and timecard systems, Paycom preferred The ability to quickly and proficiently learn new software with ease. Other Must be eighteen (18) years or older. Be available for scheduled training sessions. Ability to work flexible shifts, stand for extended periods, and lift items weighing up to thirty (30) pounds as needed for showroom maintenance. Minimum part-time availability includes: Three (3) weekdays (Monday through Thursday) with full-day availability. Two (2) weekend days (Friday through Sunday) with full-day availability. Store Operating Hours: Monday through Thursday 10:00 am through 7:00 pm Friday and Saturday 10:00 am through 8:00 pm Sunday 11:00 am through 7:00 pm Full Availability means one hour before store opening and one hour after store closing. Ability to work weekends and holidays is required. Please note that this role has mandatory blackout dates during the peak holiday season: Black Friday and Black Friday weekend, and December 14th through 31st, during which time, time-off requests are not permitted. Washington State Pay Transparency Act: The hourly pay for this role is $20.50 an hour. The target compensation range and the actual salary are determined by several factors, including specific skills, competencies, years of experience, geographic location, and education, as outlined in the job description. Full time employees are eligible for company benefits to include medical, prescription, dental, mental health benefits, 401(k) and paid time off (vacation, PSST) and paid holidays. Employees in Non-Exempt positions must accurately complete, obtain their manager's approval, and timely submit a timecard in the form provided by the Company, which coincides with the Company's bi-weekly payroll schedule.
