Architectural Woods, LP is hiring a Warehouse Operator / Manager-in-Training for our Vancouver, WA location. We’re seeking a detail-oriented team member who fills orders accurately and delivers excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, and able to prioritize, multitask, and problem-solve with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. This role starts in warehouse operations with a clear path to promotion into a leadership position.

 

Description:

The Warehouse Operator / Manager-in-Training (MIT) primarily pulls lumber and plywood orders using a forklift for in-house and next-day delivery while learning core warehouse operations. Responsibilities also include loading and unloading company trucks, incoming deliveries, and customer vehicles. Remaining time is spent training for a future leadership role. After demonstrating strong warehouse skills and leadership readiness, the candidate will be considered for promotion.
 

Requirements:

  • Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic math and intermediate computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong forklift experience
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently in outdoor conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work overtime as needed

Preferred:

  • 3–5 years of management experience
  • Lumber industry experience
  • Experience loading/unloading trucks and containers

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service, including will-call support
  • Pick, load, and unload orders for company and customer vehicles
  • Receive materials and complete accurate paperwork
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Perform cycle counts and support inventory management
  • Supervise drivers and shift leads, overseeing a team of approximately 10 employees
  • Assign tasks, prioritize workflow, and monitor team performance
  • Enforce safety protocols
  • Support truck dispatching and equipment maintenance, including forklifts
  • Train staff on forklift operation
  • Adapt to changing daily business needs

 

Schedule:

  • Full-time
  • 10:00am to 6:30pm
  • Monday to Friday

  • $18-20 DOE (Pay increase considered upon completion of training)
