Architectural Woods, LP is hiring a Warehouse Operator / Manager-in-Training for our Vancouver, WA location. We’re seeking a detail-oriented team member who fills orders accurately and delivers excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, and able to prioritize, multitask, and problem-solve with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. This role starts in warehouse operations with a clear path to promotion into a leadership position.
Description:
The Warehouse Operator / Manager-in-Training (MIT) primarily pulls lumber and plywood orders using a forklift for in-house and next-day delivery while learning core warehouse operations. Responsibilities also include loading and unloading company trucks, incoming deliveries, and customer vehicles. Remaining time is spent training for a future leadership role. After demonstrating strong warehouse skills and leadership readiness, the candidate will be considered for promotion.
Requirements:
- Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic math and intermediate computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong forklift experience
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently in outdoor conditions
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work overtime as needed
Preferred:
- 3–5 years of management experience
- Lumber industry experience
- Experience loading/unloading trucks and containers
Core Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service, including will-call support
- Pick, load, and unload orders for company and customer vehicles
- Receive materials and complete accurate paperwork
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Perform cycle counts and support inventory management
- Supervise drivers and shift leads, overseeing a team of approximately 10 employees
- Assign tasks, prioritize workflow, and monitor team performance
- Enforce safety protocols
- Support truck dispatching and equipment maintenance, including forklifts
- Train staff on forklift operation
- Adapt to changing daily business needs
Schedule:
- Full-time
- 10:00am to 6:30pm
- Monday to Friday
