Overview

The Senior Employee Relations Partner serves as an onsite People Team subject matter expert in Dayton, Ohio. The role is responsible for proactively managing employee relations, handling investigations and providing coaching to managers. It also partners closely with the General Manager and handles administrative People Team functions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop effective relationships with team members and promote positive employee relations, high engagement, and overall satisfaction across the organization
  • Partner closely with the General Manager and business leaders on strategic HR initiatives
  • Proactively manage, investigate, and resolve employee relations issues, ensuring thorough case documentation and full alignment with company policies and labor laws
  • Apply specialized knowledge to guide conflict resolution, corrective actions, and performance management processes
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, and community engagement events
  • Serve as an onsite People Team subject matter expert on local workforce guidelines and Ohio labor regulations
  • Support onboarding execution, recruitment activities, onsite interview coordination, and site tours
  • Assist with compensation, benefits, leave administration, and special projects as needed

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience
  • 6+ years of progressive HR experience, with a dedicated focus on employee relations and conflict management
  • Thorough understanding of core HR principles, concepts, practices, and Ohio labor laws
  • Proven track record of consultative HR experience, working autonomously to resolve complex challenges
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and objective coaching abilities
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Demonstrated discretion in handling highly confidential business matters and sensitive information
  • Approachable, customer-focused, and solutions-oriented mindset
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (G-Suite) tools
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in Dayton, OH, with up to 10% travel
  • Flexibility to collaborate effectively across time zones, including aligning with Pacific Time working hours as needed

Additional Information

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $89,900 - $119,900/yr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
