The Construction Technician supports civil construction projects critical to wireless infrastructure deployment. This hands-on role includes trenching, concrete work, fencing, utility installation, and general site development. Technicians are expected to perform physically demanding tasks while upholding safety, quality, and efficiency. This position plays a key part in executing site builds, upgrades, and repairs in coordination with Hightower crews and project leads.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in excavation, trenching, conduit installation, grounding, and backfill.
- Perform concrete work including form setup, rebar placement, and finishing.
- Install fences, equipment pads, utility poles, cable trays, and site hardware.
- Operate or assist with construction equipment (e.g., mini-excavators, tampers, skid steers).
- Load, unload, and stage construction materials safely and efficiently.
- Ensure job site is clean, secure, and compliant with safety protocols.
- Follow instructions from Foreman or Lead and complete tasks independently when required.
- Report hazards, incidents, and equipment issues promptly.
- Travel to remote sites and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Physically able to lift 50+ lbs, dig trenches, and work on uneven terrain.
- Must pass background check and drug screening.
- Willingness to travel for extended periods with overnight stays.
- Comfortable working in construction zones and energized telecom environments.
- Willing to relocate within 45 minutes of assigned office.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Pay: Based on experience and skill level
Travel: Frequent overnight travel required (per diem + lodging provided)
Schedule: Monday–Friday with some weekends/evenings as needed
