Overview

Bowhead Information Technologies Service is seeking a Current Operations (CUOPS) Planner to support our Space Forces – Space customer.

Responsibilities

• Provide current and future joint operational support utilizing the Joint Publication 3.0 and 5.0 series. Contribute to ensuring the S3 is ready to conduct joint space operations and deliver space capability expertise in accordance with the Commander’s objectives• Manage and track the Current Operations (CUOPS) order process to include receipt, status updates or in-progress reviews, and transmittal to internal or external organizations• Measure compliance with ongoing activities and assist in identifying where situations deviate from the plan called for in published orders• Implement and assist in managing the S33 inputs into the Command and Control Information Environment (C2IE) as the global integration decision support and visualization tool of record• Coordinate draft orders through the final approval of orders for publication on behalf of CDR USSPACECOM• Track Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS), applicable USSPACECOM orders and subordinate orders via an orders tracker on the USSPACECOM SharePoint SIPR website• Attend Plans Operations Synchronization Working Group meeting• Coordinate generation of current operations orders with appropriate SMEs• Conduct quality checks of orders and disseminate in a timely and effective manner• Review orders received, determine USSPACECOM area of expertise to comply with the orders direction, and make sure the USSPACECOM area or point of contact (POC) receives the order to action• Coordinate and develop briefing products, manage all aspects of S33 facilitated briefings/presentations and accomplish all other tasks required to support CUOPS battle rhythm events across the CCMD functional organizations• Coordinate the Commander’s Update Brief weekly, to include collecting inputs from all participating entities, creating S3 talking points, transmitting those talking points the day prior to the Commander’s Update Brief to the S3• Establish communications with all participants, conduct rollcall for those attending, and ensure any foreign parties are dropped from the briefing if it moves to a U.S. only forum• Assist in setting up and running Operational Planning Team meetings to accomplish the tasks assigned, whether it’s a briefing, white paper, etc.• Provide limited administrative support, including preparing and reviewing internal/external documents, and managing assigned taskings using the Task Management Tool (TMT) on the NIPRnet and SIPRnet coordinating with action officers to ensure they are aware of assigned tasks and due dates

Qualifications

• Minimum BA/BS (MA/MS is preferred)• Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience• Experience initiating and/or developing Government specified content for Combatant Command J33 or Service S33 and S3 senior staff • Experience in providing strategic advice, technical guidance, analysis and recommendations for mission and program challenges• Maintains the specific skills, knowledge, and comprehension to perform all task functions quickly and accurately without supervision or assistance

Must be able to lift up to 25 poundsMust be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of timeMust be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

 

Must currently hold an active Top Secret clearance with SCI, SAP and ACCM Eligibility.
