Crew Leader / Foreman — Landscape & Site Work (Will Train)
We work for big home builders from Sarasota to Venice to North Port. We keep their job sites clean and up to code. There is plenty of work, and it keeps coming.
We need a Crew Leader. You do not need to know this trade. We will teach you. If you work hard, show up, and want to learn, we will show you the rest.
This is hard, hands-on work outside. You will do the work with your crew — not watch from the truck. The main job is putting up silt fence on new home construction sites. It is more like fence work and dirt work than mowing or planting.
The Job
- Pay:Â $20 to $24 an hour, based on your experience.
- Overtime:Â Paid after 40 hours.
- Hours:Â 7:00 AM to about 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Some Saturdays.
- Where:Â Our Venice yard. You will drive to job sites close by.
What You Will Do
- Lead a small crew. You will run a crew of 1 or 2 people. You work right beside them. You set the pace, train new guys, and make sure the work is done right.
- Put in silt fence. Dig, set posts, and hang fabric. Most of this is heavy work done by hand and with a trencher.
- Run equipment. Use of trencher. Load, unload, and tie down tools and gear.
- Keep sites ready. Walk the site, find problems, and fix them.
What You Need
No experience in this trade is needed. We will train you on all of it — the silt fence work, the equipment, and the site rules. If you have worked in landscaping, irrigation, lawn care, sod, fencing, or construction, that work counts here. You already know how to work outside — we will teach you the rest.
Here is what we do need from you:
- You work hard. This is heavy, dirty work outside in the Florida heat, every day.
- You show up. On time, ready to go, every morning.
- You want to learn. Ask questions. Take direction. Get better every week.
- People follow you. You can lead one or two guys and keep them moving.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
