Simmonds Precision is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join our Motion Controls business unit, which designs and manufactures custom engineered, high power density Control Actuation Systems for military and aerospace applications. Â In this role you will develop actuation control algorithms as an integral part of our systems engineering team.Â

What You Will Do
- Apply control theory to the design, implementation, validation and verification of actuation control systems from concept through test and entry into service
- Planning and execution of control system validation and verification
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and embedded software teams to implement and verify control algorithms
- Participate in root cause determination and corrective actions related to production test and field issues
- Rapid development of control algorithm solutions to emerging issues
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant engineering experience
- Experience in control system design and frequency domain analysis
- Successful application of analytical skills to solve complex engineering problems
- U.S. citizenship is required
Qualifications We Prefer
- M.S. degree in a related field of study
- Experience developing physics-based models of actuation components
- Experience with aerospace actuation systems
- Experience with implementation and simulation of models and estimators in engineering computational environments such as Matlab/Simulink
- Experience developing physics-based dynamic models for system analysis and design
- Solid track record of achieving results
- Outstanding cross discipline verbal and oral communication skills
- A strong desire to work closely in a team environment to make a difference
