The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supporting the daily operations of the production department, ensuring that all jobs are processed efficiently, executed to completion, and meet established quality standards. This role is responsible for maintaining compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) by supporting inspections, audits, complaint investigations, and nonconformance activities, while promoting adherence to QMS requirements throughout the department. The Production Supervisor also manages the flow and prioritization of production tasks to ensure operational efficiency and meet business objectives.
Provide regular updates to management regarding departmental activities, production status, and operational issues. Effective verbal and written communication is essential to ensure coordination, timely decision-making, and the successful execution of departmental objectives.
This position requires strong technical aptitude and proficiency in basic reading, writing, and mathematics, typically acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience supervising a production team is required. Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Windows applications is essential. The role also requires strong professional verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to effectively interact with employees, management, and cross-functional teams.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: This role requires adherence to all company policies, procedures, and processes that support the standards and guidelines for regulatory agencies, including but not limited to The Joint Commission, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and Federal health care program requirements, as well as the Snap Code of Ethics and Quality Management System.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Team Leadership: Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, and coaching production staff to promote employee development and maintain an efficient, productive work environment.
Management Support: Provide support to management by addressing employee questions and assisting with performance management, including grievances, corrective actions, and disciplinary matters as appropriate.
Process Improvement: Collaborate with management to identify and implement workflow improvements that enhance efficiency, support organizational growth, and accommodate operational or structural changes.
Quality Control: Improve quality by monitoring processes and outcomes to obtain areas of improvement
Inventory Monitoring: Monitor inventory levels to ensure materials are available for production.
Production Knowledge: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of production processes, systems, and procedures to effectively support departmental operations and provide guidance to production staff.
Department Coverage: Ensure adequate staffing and supervisory coverage throughout all active production hours to maintain workflow continuity and meet production objectives.

Education
Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor’s degree in business management, industrial engineering, or manufacturing is a significant advantage.
Experience
Typically, 2-5+ years of hands-on supervisory or leadership experience within a manufacturing, assembly, or production environment.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Other Skills and Abilities
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control principles, and production management software (e.g., ERP, MES). Excellent conflict resolution, verbal and written communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
