Basic Job Functions:

 

  • The role of the HR Administrator is to support production and HR and other departments as needed. 
  • This role is responsible for providing excellent customer service and a wide range of payroll support to our team members while maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of the payroll data.
  • The role of the HR Administrator includes, but is not limited to, weekly processing of all payroll activities, preparation and submission of weekly and monthly reports to Accounting, assisting with time and attendance software, supporting the recruitment process as needed, assisting department supervisors, scheduling and coordinating meetings and events, and running reports.
  • Weekly processing of payroll activities; preparation, filing, and reconciliation of quarterly/ annual federal and state tax returns; month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing; preparing W2s; and wage garnishment processing.
  • The HR Administrator will also assist with the administration of various company-sponsored programs/projects (company events, service awards, scholarships, educational reimbursement, etc.) as well as maintaining records and document retention.
  • Administering multi-state FMLA, Sick Pay, Long-Term Disability, and Life Insurance claims.
  • Maintaining current cross-training within all HR functions to provide backup as needed.
  •  This position requires a high level of integrity, ethical character, and honesty in all actions.
  •  Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum 2 or more years of payroll processing experience
  • Minimum 2 or more years of Human Resources experience.
  • Financial reporting experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • SAP payroll, Success Factors, and other HR-related systems experience
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) by the American Payroll Association
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Bilingual – English and Spanish speaking.
