Rogers Group, Inc. is looking to fulfil the need of a General Utility person at our Boone Quarry in Verona, KY. Boone Quarry is an underground limestone mine and quarry. This is a surface position where the general utility person will be responsible for general mine labor around production areas to include shoveling stone from under conveyors and to assist with plant clean-up to ensure smooth, continuous operation.

Full-Time

Night shift – 9:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Wages starting at $25.00/hr. for this position. This includes a $23/hr. base pay and a $2/hr shift differential. Some positions require no experience and Rogers Group will train. Pay will be determined based on experience.

The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to:

  • General plant/mine labor and clean-up of production areas, including shoveling stone from around conveyors and assist with plant clean up and operations

  • Being trained in various other entry level production positions and fill in as needed during vacations, absences and increased production demand times

  • Operate equipment, including but not limited to a skid steer and/or loader. Experience is preferred.

  • Report equipment problems and identify them to management.

  • Light maintenance work and maintain the belt lines

  • Complete equipment pre-shift report – if applicable

  • Assist other workers as needed or directed and other duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Properly follow all company policies and regulations for safe working procedures and environment

  • Ability to maintain safe working conditions

  • Ability to physically lift 50 lbs.

  • Physical ability to squat, bend, and twist, sometimes repetitively.

  • Self-motivated individual, must be able to perform required duties without constant supervision

  • Able to perform a variety of duties, some which may include plant clean-up, maintenance, operating equipment and other duties as assigned

  • Ability to learn quickly

  • Must be willing to work weekends and overtime

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen
