Starting Pay Range: $18.00 - $22.50 hourly
The Service Writer is responsible for greeting customers, writing repair orders, and coordinating vehicle service with technicians. Communicates repair needs, timelines, and costs to customers, ensuring accurate documentation and excellent service. Supports smooth workflow in the service department.
Day Shift Available:
8:00am - 5:00pm
Your day-to-day as a Service Writer will entail:
- Confirming vehicle issues by listening to guest concerns, inspecting vehicles, and reviewing maintenance records
- Verifying fleet/warranty coverage and obtaining prior authorizations
- Providing and explaining repair estimates; securing guest approvals and payments
- Preparing repair orders in MAXXTRAXX with detailed descriptions of issues and required services
- Maintaining strong guest communication and updating on vehicle status and timelines
- Recording service history and maintaining accurate documentation
- Answering phones, greeting guests professionally, and following scripts when needed
- Coordinating with the Service Manager to ensure guest satisfaction
- Performing other related duties as assigned

Work Experience
To be successful as a Service Writer you'll need:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Service Writer or in a related automotive role
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Solid knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance principles
- Experience with MaxxTraxx or similar shop management software
