JOB SUMMARY:

The Communications Specialist writes compelling content using commercial insights and develops communications supporting marketing campaigns by effectively communicating our brand, solutions, and messaging to end-users and our distribution channel. Provides assistance on marketing and product management projects. Strong emotive writing and organizational skills are required.

 

ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Creates and writes messaging that consistently reflects the Midmark brand voice and aligns with key strategies, quality regulations and follows the Midmark Writing and Grammar Style Guide.
  • Produces copy for a full range of marketing materials including, but not limited to, email campaigns, AdWord campaigns, digital and print advertisements, brochures, website, eBooks, PowerPoints, and magazine articles.
  • Collaborates with the creative team to produce written materials from concept to final product, including research, interviews, writing and editing.
  • Delivers quality copy in brand format that contains all necessary legal language and registration marks.
  • Works with digital marketing to identify and implement keywords into all pieces of content in order to improve SEO rankings.

 

SECONDARY DUTIES:

  • Assists with building and implementing e-mail campaigns and other digital marketing projects.
  • Collaborates with marketing team to develop and deliver creative initiatives that drive sales results.
  • Works with digital marketing team to obtain and understand campaign analytics to maximize campaign performance.
  • Maintains communication with cross-functional departments.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or equivalent work experience. 2-4 years of writing and marketing experience within the medical or healthcare industries.

 

COMPETENCY and/or SKILL:

  • Exceptional creative writing and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess the ability to synthesize technical information into professional marketing communications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to leverage AI-powered tools to streamline content creation and distribution, enhancing communication efficiency and audience engagement
  • Ability to utilize machine learning algorithms to analyze communication effectiveness and optimize messaging strategies for improved outreach and impact
  • Knowledge of email marketing software and best practices (experience with HubSpot and/or Eloqua a plus)
  • Must be well-organized with the ability to edit, research and problem-solve
  • Ability to work at all levels of documentation development, from initial research to editing final drafts
  • Proficient proofreading skills with attention to clarity, grammar, and detail
  • Knowledge of various writing styles, including AP, APA, and MLA
  • Excellent cross-functional skills, specifically working with channel development, product management and sales
  • Ability to work independently as well as function effectively as a team member
