The glue that holds every exam room, surgery prep, and tail wag together

 

At Vestal Veterinary Hospital, we know it takes a village to care for pets, and Veterinary Assistants are the glue that holds it all together. We're looking for a compassionate and motivated Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our crew and bring skill, kindness, and hustle to every exam room, surgery prep, and tail wag.

 

What You'll Do

  • Keep accurate medical records and help answer client questions
  • Prep patients for exams and surgeries
  • Administer medications as directed
  • Assist with lab testing (blood, fecal, urine, etc.)
  • Clean and sanitize surgical tools, kennels, and exam areas
  • Monitor post-op patients and report any changes
  • Safely restrain patients during exams and procedures
  • Help educate pet parents on medications, treatments, and care
  • Partner with Credentialed Technicians and DVMs to provide top-tier care

What We're Looking For

  • 1-2 years of experience in a veterinary setting
  • A love for animals (obviously), with a calm, steady presence
  • A great communicator who works well with clients and teammates
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable
  • Cool under pressure and comfortable in a busy hospital setting
  • Eager to learn and grow in the role
  • A team player who knows how to pitch in wherever needed

Schedule

  • Full-time, Day shift, 8-hour shifts
  • No weekends
  • No holiday shifts required

Compensation


The pay range for this position is $16 to $18 per hour, based on experience, skills, and credentials. Final pay will be determined during the hiring process.
