POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Tech II provides support for manufacturing operations through equipment repair, preventive maintenance, and project participation to help maintain SQF, quality, safety, and productivity standards. Additionally, under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor they assist in the upkeep and repair of the facility/grounds, including structural, electrical, and plumbing maintenance, to maintain a safe, efficient, and operational work environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow all food safety, quality, and regulatory procedures to protect products and maintain compliance.
  • Participate in required food safety training and understand your role as outlined in the Organizational Chart communicated during training and posted in common areas.
  • Immediately report food safety concerns to management and take appropriate action within your scope to prevent or correct issues.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs production equipment.
  • Assists with the upkeep and repair of the facility/grounds.
  • Conducts maintenance on hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Participates in tooling and mold changes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of production equipment, including PLC logic systems.
  • Provides 24/7 support for manufacturing operations.

 

  • Knowledge of electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, tooling systems and electronic drive systems, including PLC systems.
  • Computer skills and familiarity with maintenance systems.
  • OSHA Safety awareness

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3–5 years of maintenance experience;
  • High School with certification or technical degree preferred.
  • Electrical License preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Repetitive bending, kneeling, climbing, and maneuvering in various positions.
  • Ability to transport heavy equipment and parts.
  • Pulling or pushing loads up to 500 lbs. using a hand jack.
  • Working around high-temperature ovens.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Work in a non-temperature-controlled manufacturing environment with foam polystyrene products.
  • Work in varied external weather conditions when required
  • Air pressure and motor noise require ear plugs.
  • The equipment operates 24 hours per day for 7 days a week.
  • Operators are expected to perform their jobs with no additional assistance.
  • The company utilizes a flammable chemical during the production of foamed polystyrene. The company operates the facility under the guidelines of the Environmental Risk Management Program Level 3.
