About the Role:

The Hotel Night Auditor plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of hotel activities during overnight hours, combining accounting, customer service, and administrative duties. This position is responsible for auditing the daily financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing accurate reports to support management decisions. The Night Auditor also serves as the primary point of contact for guests during the night, providing exceptional service and addressing any inquiries or concerns promptly. Additionally, the role involves monitoring room availability, managing reservations, and maintaining the safety and cleanliness of key hotel areas. Ultimately, the Night Auditor ensures operational continuity, financial accuracy, and guest satisfaction during the overnight shift.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with hotel management software or similar systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy for financial auditing tasks.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts and handle multiple responsibilities independently.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming permit from the Mississippi Gaming Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a night auditor or in a similar hospitality role.
  • Familiarity with fire and safety regulations specific to the hospitality industry.
  • Experience handling cash management and financial reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of front desk operations and reservation systems.
  • Certification in hospitality management or related fields.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform nightly audit of hotel financial transactions, including reconciling cash, credit card, and other payment methods.
  • Monitor and update room availability, block rooms as necessary, and manage reservations to optimize occupancy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front entrance, coffee area, and surrounding public spaces to ensure a welcoming environment.
  • Handle guest mail, messages, and special requests with professionalism and discretion.
  • Ensure compliance with fire and safety regulations throughout the hotel premises during the shift.
  • Open and close shifts accurately, including making cash drops and securing financial records.
  • Utilize basic computer and administrative skills to update records, generate reports, and communicate with other hotel departments.
