Facilities Maintenance Technician I

SUMMARY

The Facilities Maintenance Technician I is responsible for constructing, repairing, painting, and maintaining structures, furniture, and finishes across all KPC Health hospital campuses. This position supports a wide range of carpentry and general maintenance activities, ensuring high standards of safety and functionality.

Key Responsibilities

• Construct and repair furniture, cabinetry, doors, walls, and hospital room finishes using hand and power tools.
• Maintain and repair wooden structures, including counters, partitions, stairs, and window/door frames.
• Perform general painting, surface preparation, and finish work as needed.
• Operate woodworking and finishing equipment including saws, joiners, and lathes.
• Follow safety protocols and building codes while completing assignments.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, inventory, and material requisitions.
• Work collaboratively with facilities teams at all hospital locations.
• Travel to KPC hospitals as required.
• Others duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years general maintenance experience; healthcare experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Valid CA Driver’s License; reliable transportation.
