HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
MK Magnetics (www.mkmagnetics.com) specializes in the production of custom and standard tape wound soft magnetic cores for transformers and inductors. All the cores we sell are manufactured on site in Adelanto, California, in a modern 75,000 sq. ft. facility specifically designed and built for manufacturing tape wound magnetic cores.

The Human Resources Manager administers HR programs and initiatives in alignment with established company policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws. This role partners with leadership to support organizational effectiveness through the full range of HR functions.
This is a fully onsite position in our Adelanto, CA manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local employment laws and regulationsÂ
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on employee relations matters, policy interpretation, and best practicesÂ
- Conduct workplace investigations and partner with external resources when necessaryÂ
- Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and documentation in compliance with legal requirementsÂ
- Stay current on employment law changes and recommend policy or process updatesÂ
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job description development, sourcing, interviewing, and candidate selectionÂ
- Partner with hiring managers to support effective hiring decisionsÂ
- Complete onboarding processes to ensure a positive and compliant new hire experienceÂ
Performance Management & Development
- Lead performance management processes, including annual reviews, employee development, and disciplinary actionsÂ
- Coach and support managers in performance discussions and employee development planningÂ
- Assess training needs and partner with corporate HR to design and implement training programsÂ
Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Coordination
- Participate in the annual compensation review process, providing insight to guide decisions
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, qualifying event changes, terminations, and COBRA coordinationÂ
- Serve as liaison with third-party administrators and ensure data accuracy in HR systemsÂ
- Complete payroll entry for biweekly payroll, including review of timesheets for errors, entering sick and vacation time taken by employees, and employee status or pay changesÂ
Leave Management & Workers’ Compensation
- Manage employee leave programs (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA, etc.) from request through return-to-workÂ
- Oversee workers’ compensation cases, including documentation, communication, and case coordinationÂ
Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Partner with leadership and outside safety experts to promote a safe and compliant work environment in accordance with OSHA and company standardsÂ
- Monitor, report, and maintain records of workplace incidents and safety programsÂ
- Support environmental health and safety initiatives and reporting requirementsÂ
Offboarding & HR Operations
- Manage employee separations, ensuring proper documentation, communication, and complianceÂ
- Ensure accurate HR data entry and reporting for EEO, affirmative action, and other regulatory requirementsÂ
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; HR certification or equivalent experience consideredÂ
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing environmentÂ
- Strong knowledge of federal and California employment laws and regulationsÂ
- Broad experience across core HR functions, including compliance, recruitment and selection, training and development, leaves of absence, accommodation and benefits administration
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalismÂ
- Experience managing employee relations issues, conducting investigations, and facilitating difficult or potentially confrontational conversations as a neutral partyÂ
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levelsÂ
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills, with strong attention to detailÂ
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and delivering trainingÂ
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS systems (ADP strongly preferred)Â
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Â
- Bilingual Spanish strongly preferredÂ
- Experience with safety and environmental programs preferredÂ
- Must be able to spend time on the production floor and comply with all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirement
