Job Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring that utility poles meet Koppers quality standers and customer specifications. Must have the ability to work well with others, have attention to detail, work in a safe manner, and be willing to work overtime when needed. Since this work is performed outdoors, inclement weather may impact the work schedules as well. Â
- Operate all equipment in a safe and appropriate mannerÂ
- Handle material safely to prevent damage and breakage to productÂ
- Use various hand tools to position and prepare the polesÂ
- Use industrial drills Â
- Operate chainsaws Â
- Cut flat surfaces on the poles using a portable planer Â
- Brand customer information into the poles Â
- Perform minor maintenance on the tools and equipment to ensure proper performance Â
- Place steel beams between layers of poles while being loaded into a dry kiln Â
- Complete various manual labor tasks Â
- Follow all safety regulations and requirements required for Zero Harm complianceÂ
- Other work-related duties as requiredÂ
Candidate Qualifications/ Requirements
- Willing to be hands on with physical production Â
- Must be able to work in all outside weather conditions (wet, hot, cold)Â
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbsÂ
Candidate Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
