Job Summary:  

Responsible for the set-up, calibration, and operation of complex machines in the production process to create a part at the Vidalia, GA location.

Responsibilities:

  • Creates parts based on blueprints or models that have variability or multiple stages of requirements.
  • Clean machine and perform maintenance or recalibration or simple programming
  • Can Operate multiple machines simultaneously
  • Performs routine maintenance and cleaning of machines
  • Corrects machine malfunctions
  • Responsible in quality of produced units.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Mathematical acumen
  • Technical degree or certification in an applicable field.
  • Must have a minimum of 5-9 years of Machine Operator experience
  • Must maintain multiple machine operator certifications
  • Must be knowledgeable in operating a hydraulic press
  • Can set-up more complex machinery that has multiple tolerances and do calculations based off blueprints and diagrams, can read blueprints and do calculations related to programming machinery, can operate 2 machines simultaneously.
  • Experience in several machine operator positions in a production environment
  • Can use precision tools.
  • The Job will require a successful completion of a training program to include:
    • Safety Equipment and Guarding
    • Lock-Out Tag-Out Procedures
    • Startup and Routine Operation
    • Part Changeovers
    • Die Changes – internal and external
    • Crane Operation, Inspection, etc
    • Daily Pres Maintenance
    • Basic Troubleshooting Techniques

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Perform tasks requiring hand and eye coordination, with good hand dexterity (gripping and pinching repetitively) for more than 2/3’s of work shift
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 10 pounds continuously, 25 pounds repetitively and 50 pounds occasionally.  Lifting or carrying objects over 50 pounds requires a two person lift, or a lift assist
  • Bend, twist, squat, kneel, and/or stoop repetitively 6 to 8 hours per day
  • Reach overhead repetitively for more than 2/3’s of work shift
  • Stand continuously for 8 to 10 hours per day
  • Climb up and down stairs up to 3 hours per day
  • Use of senses to detect quality defects and unsafe conditions
  • Moderate physical exertion

This role has been designated by the Company as Safety Sensitive.
