HR COORDINATOR
Position Summary
The HR Coordinator supports the Human Resources function by assisting employees throughout the hiring,
onboarding, orientation, benefits, and general HR processes. This position serves as an important point of
contact for employees and is responsible for providing accurate, consistent, and professional information
regarding company policies, benefits, payroll procedures, attendance expectations, safety requirements,
and workplace practices.
The HR Coordinator is expected to maintain confidentiality, follow established Human Resources policies
and procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and escalate employee concerns or matters requiring
HR management review.
The ideal candidate is professional, organized, approachable, detail-oriented, and able to communicate
effectively with employees from diverse backgrounds. Bilingual English/Spanish/Creole skills are strongly
preferred based on workforce needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
New-Hire Orientation and Onboarding

Conduct and/or assist with new-hire orientation in accordance with established company
procedures.
Provide new employees with information regarding company policies, procedures, attendance
expectations, workplace conduct, safety requirements, PPE, sanitation, and general employment
expectations.
Provide required onboarding forms and assist employees with completing documentation accurately
and timely.
Verify that required onboarding documentation has been completed and properly submitted.
Assist with coordinating onboarding activities with Human Resources, Payroll, Safety, Operations,
and other applicable departments.
Ensure employees receive consistent and accurate information during the onboarding process.
Assist employees with accessing applicable HR, payroll, benefits, and other company systems.
Benefits Support

Provide general education regarding available employee benefits, including health, dental, vision,
retirement, paid time off, and other company-sponsored programs.
Assist employees with the benefits enrollment process and provide information regarding
enrollment procedures, deadlines, and available resources.
Direct benefit eligibility, coverage disputes, claims, or other matters requiring plan interpretation to
the appropriate HR representative or benefits administrator.
Maintain confidentiality of employee benefit and personal information.
Maintain accurate records related to benefit enrollment and required documentation.

Payroll and Timekeeping Support

Explain general payroll procedures, pay schedules, timekeeping requirements, and applicable
deductions.
Assist employees with general questions regarding timekeeping and payroll processes.
Direct payroll corrections, wage disputes, tax matters, or other payroll issues to the appropriate
Payroll or HR representative.
Maintain appropriate confidentiality when handling payroll and employee information.
Employee Relations and HR Support
•

Respond to employee questions and routine HR inquiries in a professional, respectful, and
consistent manner.
Listen to employee concerns and document or escalate matters when appropriate.
Maintain professional boundaries and avoid making employment decisions outside the authority of
the position.
Immediately escalate complaints or concerns involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation,
workplace violence, threats, safety concerns, wage and hour matters, or other potentially serious
employee relations issues to Human Resources management.
Assist HR management with investigations, employee communications, documentation, and other
HR-related activities as assigned.
Support recruitment, employee engagement, retention, and other HR initiatives

Previous experience in Human Resources, employee relations, benefits, recruiting, onboarding,
payroll support, customer service, or a related field preferred.
Experience in a manufacturing, food-processing, poultry, warehouse, or other fast-paced operational
environment preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to explain policies, procedures, and processes clearly and professionally.
Ability to work effectively with employees from diverse backgrounds.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Basic to intermediate computer skills and ability to learn HRIS, payroll, benefits, and other company
systems.
Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and recognize when an issue should be escalated to HR
management.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Bilingual English/Spanish/Creole skills strongly preferred based on business and workforce needs.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

Ability to work in an office and operational/plant environment as required.
May require frequent walking throughout the facility and interaction with employees in production
and other operational areas.
Must comply with all applicable company safety, PPE, sanitation, and workplace requirements.
