Python Full Stack Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Python Full Stack Developer with deep experience in automation, Azure‑native services, and modern DevOps practices. In this role, you will build and optimize cloud‑native solutions using Python, PowerShell, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and YAML-based automation to enhance delivery speed, system reliability, and operational efficiency. You will design secure, scalable architectures across Azure App Services, AKS, AAD, and other Azure services, while contributing to a high‑performance engineering culture within an Agile/Scrum environment. This position requires strong hands-on expertise in automation scripting and the ability to proactively improve system monitoring and observability.

About the role

As a Python Full Stack Developer, you will build and support cloud‑native applications and automated deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and YAML. You will develop Python and PowerShell scripts to streamline deployments, configuration updates, maintenance, and provisioning tasks. You will also configure monitoring tools, intelligent alerting, and reliability improvements across Azure environments, ensuring issues are identified before they impact users. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, apply Azure best practices, and troubleshoot complex cloud and DevOps challenges within Agile/Scrum delivery models.

In this role, you will:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Full Stack with Python services including automation, PowerShell, Azure DevOps, GitHub Action, YAML scripting, Azure App Services, Azure-native services Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Active Directory (AAD) & Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Strong experience in Azure DevOps for pipeline creation and management.

·       Hands-on expertise with GitHub Actions for workflow automation.

·       Proficiency in YAML scripting for pipeline configuration.

·       Ability to build, configure, and optimize automated CI/CD pipelines to improve delivery speed and reliability.

·       Python for advanced automation tasks and custom scripts.

·       PowerShell for managing and automating Azure resources.

·       General scripting knowledge for integrating automation into deployment processes.

·       Experience architecting and implementing cloud-based solutions on Microsoft Azure.

·       Knowledge of Azure App Services for hosting web applications.

·       Familiarity with Azure Functions for serverless computing.

·       Expertise in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) for container orchestration and scaling.

·       Ability to integrate various Azure-native services (Storage, Networking, Identity, Monitoring).

·       Understanding of Azure Active Directory (AAD) for authentication and authorization.

·       Experience leveraging automation tools to connect and optimize Azure services.

·       Knowledge of best practices for high availability, scalability, and performance optimization.

·       Strong understanding of cloud security principles (identity management, role-based access control, encryption).

·       Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting in Azure environments.

·       Proficiency with Git/GitHub for version control.

·       Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies for collaborative delivery.

·       Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in cloud and DevOps environments.

Work model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Vienna, VA.

What you need to have to be considered:

·       8+ years of hands-on experience in Full Stack with Python, Python Automation, YAML, Github, Azure App Services, Azure Native Services, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Active Directory (AAD)

·       Setting up and managing monitoring tools to track key metrics (like latency, traffic, errors, and saturation).

·       Create intelligent alerts that notify them of issues before they impact users

·       Scripts to automate everything from software deployments and configuration changes to routine maintenance and system provisioning.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until February 22^nd, 2026.

The annual salary for this position is between $70,000 - $120,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
