The Design Consultant at Floor & Decor is the entry point into design and is responsible for engaging customers on the sales floor to support their design projects, conduct design appointments with customers to determine design needs in the selection of tile, wood, stone, and accessory products of various colors textures, patterns, and design. The Design Consultant will also partner with store leaders to maximize sales goals and expand the design services brand. Minimum Eligibility Requirements include 1+ years of retail/customer service experience, high school diploma or GED, proficiency in basic mathematical skills, self-motivation, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office suite, and for internal candidates a minimum of 6 months with Floor and Decor. Essential Functions include greeting store customers, scheduling design appointments, providing advice on tile, wood, stone and accessories for residential and commercial projects, designing and selling complete solutions, managing multiple customer projects with accuracy and timely communication, collaborating with store leadership, supporting company initiatives, and utilizing design applications such as Salesforce and proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler. Working conditions include limited travel by car and exposure to a warehouse environment with moderate to noisy noise levels. Physical requirements include medium work with ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and frequent use of hands and fingers.
