Primary Duties:

  

The JH is responsible for machining and as required assembly of SMI orders. The JH is further responsible to monitor and support that customer orders are produced to the required delivery time, within the quoted hours for the job and according to internal and customer quality specifications and procedures. The JH also is responsible for status reporting and support of maintaining of all machine shop equipment. 


Manufacturing 

o Plan production of parts according to customer specifications, SMI procedures and rules and within the planned time

o Full programming and operation of CNC machinery

o Interface with manager to address and clarify production and customer requirements and issues

o Follow work and equipment schedules and updates and procedures for equipment and system operations

o As required and needed machine customer parts

o Support development and implementation of plans for improving operating efficiency / productivity to achieve planned productivity indicators

o Organize the ongoing clean-up of the machine shop (5S)

Reports

o Assure non-conformances are reported

o Complete/maintain reports as required 


Schedule: 

  • Full Time position
  • 10-hour or 8-hour shifts
  • Day Shift (possible 2nd shift in the future)
  • Monday – Friday
  • Some weekend if required to meet schedule, overtime announced the Wednesday prior.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum 5 years machining experience, preferably Journeyman education
  • Knowledge of operating principles and techniques of machining and related manufacturing processes
  • Experience with BobCatCAM programming software preferred
  • Skill in planning and supervising a manufacturing operation 
  • Working skill in machine programming applications
  • Ability to read and interpret documents (especially drawings) for content and accuracy
  • Advanced blueprint reading such as tolerances, finish marks and geometrical tolerances 

  

Working Conditions/Physical requirements*:

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing/fabrication      environment. Work may require      evening and weekend work.
  • Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, climb steps and use ladder.
  • Ability to reach overhead; have full range of mobility in upper and lower body.
  • Repeat various motions with the wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Ability to work in an uncontrolled climate environment (heat, cold, and humidity)
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds following safety procedures.
  • Ability to push/pull 100 pounds following safety procedures.
  • Vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth      perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
