Job Summary
The After-School Hifdh Teacher guides students through the memorization of the Ouran with proper tajweed and sound retention. The role centers on structured memorization, disciplined revision, and the nurturing of taqwa and adab in each student. Instruction is delivered in coordination with the Islamic Foundation and reflects the school's commitment to tarbiyyah, taleem, and ta'deeb.
Job Responsibilities
- Assess each student's readiness and place students at the appropriate level, confirming Tajweed foundation before advancing into Hifdh.
- Guide students through the daily lesson cycle of sabaq, sabqi, and dawr (new lesson, recent revision, and long-term review}.
- Teach and correct recitation with proper tajweed, addressing lahn jali and lahn khafi.
- Set individual memorization goals and monitor pace, accuracy, and retention for each student.
- Conduct regular revision and assessment to ensure firm memorization.
- Maintain discipline and a respectful, nurturing classroom environment grounded in Islamic adab.
- Take attendance and maintain accurate progress notes for each student.
- Coordinate with the Hifz Program Director and fellow instructors on pacing, scheduling, and student placement.
- Communicate student progress and concerns to program leadership and to families as directed.
- Arrive on time and prepared for each session.
- Model Islamic manners and professionalism at all times.
Requirements
- Completed or substantial Hifdh, with the ability to lead memorization and revision. ljazah preferred.
- Strong tajweed skills; ability to correct lahn jali and lahn khafi.
- Good communication and patience with children.
- Ability to maintain an engaging, orderly, and age-appropriate classroom.
- Commitment to Islamic manners, adab, and professionalism.
Hours
Monday through Friday, 4:00 to 6:00 PM CST.
