Job Summary:

Definition of Shared Governance: Shared governance is a professional structural model, founded on the cornerstone principles of partnership, equity, accountability, and ownership that form a culturally sensitive and empowering framework, enabling sustainable and accountability-based decisions to support an interdisciplinary design for excellent patient care.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Performs patient assessments in a systematic and organized manner to provide high quality and safe outcomes.
  2. Provides direction and collaborates with team members to support a healthy work environment.
  3. Analyzes collected data to formulate a plan of care that contributes to high quality and safe outcomes.
  4. Implements a plan of care with measurable criteria consistent with work class performance levels.
  5. Evaluates the plan of care with the patient and family/support system to maintain world class levels of patient satisfaction and outcomes.
  6. Contributes to a high performance work environment by seeking educational resources that enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills.
  7. Apply for nursing council or committee and be vested on one council at least every 5 years.  80% attendance in person or by phone is required.  Advancements in Clinical Ladder will be reflected in yearly application process and is expected for job performance standards.

Secondary Job Duties That May be Reassigned:

Must be able to complete the following Unit Specific Job Duties:

  1. Demonstrates recognition, interpretation, and recording of patients signs and symptoms. Demonstrates advanced knowledge in pathophysiology to anticipate medical and/or nursing interventions.
  2. Maintains central lines, midlines, PICC's.
  3. ACLS provider wtihin 6 months of hire.
  4. PALS provider within 6 months of hire.
  5. Demonstrates knowledge and ability for outpatient procedures (blood patch, paracentesis, ocl splinting, etc.).
  6. Performs 12 lead EKG's in collaboration with Cardiology Department.
  7. Assists with lab specimen collections in collaboration with Laboratory.
