JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Quality Control Supervisor

Primary Supervisor: Director of Manufacturing

Secondary Supervisor: VP of Manufacturing 

Department: Cut & Sew

FLSA Status: Hourly

Summary: Maintain the quality of all manufactured products from receiving to final inspection and testing.  


Essential Duties

  1. Analyze specifications/contracts as they pertain to operations steps and product assembly.
  2. Maintain necessary documentation related to quality policies, procedures and traceability.
  3. Work with production administration team in establishing quality requirements from external suppliers.
  4. Using purchase orders, product specifications and instructions from the production administration team, the Q.C. Supervisor will inspect incoming production supplies to Plant 2. Accept or reject incoming production shipments and inform the production administration team of their status. Mark accepted materials for production. Mark “rejected” on items unacceptable for production, and place in a designated location to insure they do not inadvertently enter the production process and inform the production administration team.
  5. Responsible for all aspects of first piece, in-process and finished product inspection.
  6. Oversee inspection criteria to ensure only conforming product is shipped.
  7. Perform periodic audits of quality system and address non-conformance areas.
  8. Assure that quality problems are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
  9. Investigate quality problems and recommend changes or improvements.
  10. Report quality problems to Floor Supervisor, Manufacturing Manager and Director of Manufacturing as needed.
  11. Promote an environment of open and honest, clear and consistent communication with Manufacturing Manager.
  12. Responsible for implementing and maintaining ISO 9001 system at Plant 2.
  13. All other duties deemed necessary.
  14. Maybe required to frequently lift and move up to 75 pounds and if required lift over 75 pounds with assistance.
  15. Additional hours if needed are mandatory.

Qualifications:

  1. Possess ability to maintain flexible schedule to meet the demands of the department, i.e. overtime.
  2. Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
  3. Ability to listen to what is said and act upon it appropriately.
  4. Ability to use tact and empathy in dealing with people of varied backgrounds.
  5. Ability to establish effective working relationships.
  6. Ability to work independently or in a team environment and plan and organize workload.
  7. Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office products. (computer literate)
  8. Accepts responsibility and demonstrates leadership.
  9. Is able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  10. Trustworthy- Able to keep business confidence as required.
  11. Open minded- Willing to embrace change.

 

Education and or Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in quality assurance in manufacturing field. Supervisory and leadership aptitudes required.


Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:

CPR/First Aid
