MAJOR FUNCTION: 

Provides Social Work services to families enrolled in the NJ Early Intervention System as part of a child's Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). Collaborates with the child's IFSP Team community service agencies and identifies community resources that will support child and family well-being as part of the child's IFSP services.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education & Experience: 

  • Master's in social work from accredited initiation required. 
  • At least one year of professional experience in family counseling. 
  • Experience in working with families of children birth-five years with developmental delays/differences preferred. 

Certification/ Licensure: 

  • Licensed Social Worker required. 

Knowledge & Skills: 

  • Knowledge of family-centered practices. 
  • Knowledge of human development and behavior. 
  • Knowledge of typical and atypical child growth and developmental sequences across all areas of development. 
  • Knowledge of social, economic, and cultural institutions, and the interactions of these factors as they relate to families. 
  • Capable of making decisions that reflect good judgment, considering the child and family’s safety and goals.  
  • Possesses good communication skills written, verbally, and by using appropriate body language. Functional computer skills.
