Job DetailsLevel: EntryJob Location: Vineland, NJ 08360Salary Range: $22.30 - $22.95 HourlyMechanic B is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment used in a food processing facility. This position supports production by maintaining machinery in safe working order and assisting senior mechanics with more complex repairs. Mechanic B works in compliance with all food safety, quality, and workplace standards. Mechanic BThe duties listed below are representative of the types of responsibilities required for the role. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the organization:  Perform preventative maintenance on processing, packaging, and facility equipment. Assists Mechanic A, Master Mechanics, and Maintenance Leads with equipment repairs and installations. Inspect equipment for wear, damage, or potential failure and report findings to maintenance leadership. Replace belts, bearings, chains, motors, seals, and other mechanical components as required. Perform lubrication and routine servicing of machinery according to maintenance schedules. Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation of repairs and inspections. Support emergency repairs to minimize production downtime. Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and all plant safety policies during maintenance activities. Maintain a clean and organized maintenance work area in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and sanitation standards. Assists with equipment setup and changeovers as needed for production operations. Communicate effectively with production staff regarding equipment status and repair timelines. Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES High school diploma or GED required. Technical or vocational training in mechanical maintenance, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred. Experience working in a food processing or manufacturing environment preferred. Basic Knowledge of mechanical systems, conveyors, pumps, motors, and production equipment. Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and equipment manuals. Basic understanding or pneumatic and hydraulic systems preferred. Mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to urgent maintenance needs. Team-oriented with good communication skills.
